These Terms of Service govern direct vehicle rentals, reservation requests, payments, and related services provided by Atlascapes Autos LLC (“Atlascapes,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By submitting a reservation, completing checkout, making payment, or accepting a vehicle, the renter agrees to these Terms, the applicable reservation details, the Vehicle Rental Agreement, Rules of the Road, and any applicable Wheelbase or protection-plan terms.
1. Reservations and Approval
Submitting a reservation request does not guarantee a rental. Reservations are subject to vehicle availability, payment requirements, driver eligibility, identity and license verification, applicable insurance or protection requirements, and approval by Atlascapes Autos LLC.
Only drivers verified and approved for the reservation may operate the vehicle.
2. Driver Requirements
Each driver must possess a valid driver's license and satisfy all eligibility requirements applicable to the reservation.
Additional eligibility requirements may apply based on the driver's age, vehicle, insurance or protection option selected, or requirements imposed by Wheelbase or an applicable insurance/protection provider.
Atlascapes reserves the right to decline or cancel a reservation when required driver verification or eligibility requirements are not satisfied, subject to applicable refund terms and law.
3. Rental Charges and Reservation Payment
Rental prices, taxes, fees, optional services, protection products, mileage allowances, deposits, and other applicable charges are disclosed during booking or in the reservation documentation.
For direct bookings, the amount required to reserve a vehicle is currently 25% of the reservation total or $150, whichever is greater, unless a different amount is displayed for the reservation.
The remaining rental balance is generally due 2 days before pickup, unless the reservation states otherwise.
4. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit may be required. The amount applicable to the selected vehicle will be disclosed during booking.
The security deposit is not a limitation of the renter's financial responsibility.
Subject to applicable law and platform/payment-provider rules, amounts properly due for damage, missing fuel, excess mileage, extraordinary cleaning, lost keys, tolls, citations, late return, or other authorized charges may be applied against the deposit or charged separately.
Any remaining deposit will be released according to the applicable payment, booking, and deposit-processing terms.
5. Cancellation Policy
For reservations subject to the Wheelbase Moderate cancellation policy:
14 or more days before pickup: Full refund of the daily rental amount, less applicable service fees.
5–13 days before pickup: A 50% cancellation fee applies to the daily rental amount.
4 days or fewer before pickup: A 100% cancellation fee applies to the daily rental amount.
Add-ons, delivery, preparation fees, and protection packages are refunded according to the applicable Wheelbase cancellation policy.
The cancellation policy displayed and accepted during checkout controls if it differs from the information above.
6. Pickup and Return
Renters must select and comply with the approved pickup and return times shown on their reservation.
Atlascapes Autos currently uses an in-person vehicle handoff and return process unless otherwise arranged.
Renters should notify Atlascapes approximately 10 minutes before arriving at the agreed pickup or return location.
Early pickup, extensions, or late returns require prior approval.
7. Vehicle Use
Vehicles may only be operated by approved drivers and must be used lawfully and responsibly.
Unless expressly authorized and permitted by applicable insurance or protection coverage, vehicles may not be used for rideshare, delivery, commercial transportation, towing, racing, track use, off-road driving, driver training, reckless driving, sub-rental, or illegal activity.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited.
Pets require prior approval.
Additional vehicle-specific restrictions may be disclosed in the reservation or Vehicle Rental Agreement.
8. Fuel, Mileage and Vehicle Condition
The vehicle must be returned with the required fuel level and in substantially the same condition as received, ordinary wear excepted.
Applicable mileage allowances and excess-mileage charges are disclosed with the reservation.
The renter must promptly report accidents, theft, vandalism, warning lights, mechanical problems, tire or wheel damage, windshield or glass damage, or other significant vehicle issues.
Renters must not authorize repairs or continue operating a vehicle that appears unsafe without instructions from Atlascapes or the applicable roadside/claims provider.
9. Accidents and Damage
Accidents, theft, vandalism, and significant damage must be reported promptly to Atlascapes and, where applicable, Wheelbase, law enforcement, the protection provider, insurer, or claims administrator.
Renters must cooperate with reasonable accident investigation and claims requirements.
Responsibility for damage, deductibles, liability coverage, exclusions, and benefits is determined by the applicable rental agreement, law, insurance policy, and/or protection-plan terms.
10. Insurance and Protection
Insurance and protection options may be offered or administered through Wheelbase or other third-party providers.
Coverage is subject to the applicable provider's eligibility requirements, exclusions, deductibles, limits, and terms.
Atlascapes does not independently expand or modify the coverage provided by an insurer or protection-plan administrator.
Where a renter elects or is permitted to rely on personal automobile insurance, the renter is responsible for ensuring that the coverage satisfies applicable rental requirements.
11. Tolls, Tickets and Other Charges
The renter is responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for tolls, parking charges, traffic violations, citations, and similar charges arising from the renter's use of the vehicle.
Reasonable administrative, recovery, towing, storage, lost-key, fuel, excess-mileage, extraordinary-cleaning, or other charges may apply when permitted by the rental agreement, applicable platform terms, and law.
12. Rental Agreement and Electronic Signatures
Renters may be required to electronically sign the Atlascapes Autos LLC Vehicle Rental Agreement & Renter Acknowledgment before the vehicle is released.
Electronic signatures and electronic acceptance have the same intended effect as acceptance of the corresponding rental documents in accordance with applicable law.
The rental agreement, reservation details, vehicle-condition documentation, these Terms, and applicable platform terms collectively govern the rental transaction.
13. Vehicle Availability
Atlascapes makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate vehicle availability.
A particular vehicle may become unavailable because of mechanical issues, damage, safety concerns, a prior renter's late return, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If Atlascapes cannot provide the reserved vehicle, we may offer a comparable available vehicle or other resolution permitted by the applicable reservation and platform terms.
14. Privacy
Personal information submitted through our website or booking system may be processed by Atlascapes and service providers involved in reservations, payments, identity or driver verification, insurance/protection, fraud prevention, claims, and rental administration.

15. Third-Party Services
Our website and rental process may use third-party services, including Wheelbase and payment, insurance, protection, identity-verification, analytics, or communications providers.
Use of those services may also be governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
16. Limitation and Applicable Law
Nothing in these Terms waives rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived.
To the extent permitted by law, Atlascapes is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from circumstances outside its reasonable control.
The rental relationship with Atlascapes Autos LLC is governed by applicable North Carolina law, except where controlling federal law or applicable platform, insurance, or protection terms provide otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
17. Changes to These Terms
Atlascapes may update these Terms periodically. The version applicable to a reservation is generally the version presented or incorporated when the reservation is made, except where a change is required by law or controlling third-party terms.
